Dominga Pina

Dominga (Luz) Pina, 96, of New Bedford, formerly of Mattapoisett, passed away Wednesday September 9, 2026 at Sacred Heart Home. She was the wife of the late Martin T. Pina.

Born in Mattapoisett, the daughter of the late Candido and Mary (Lima) DaLuz, she had lived in Mattapoisett, Fairhaven and New Bedford. She was a graduate of Fairhaven High School, Class of 1948.

Dominga was formerly employed as an inspector at U.S. Ringbinder in New Bedford until her retirement.

She is survived by three grandchildren, Tycin Pina, Jesse Lacefield, and Shane Green; two great-grandchildren, Carter Pacheco and Akias Fields; and nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late James Pina, Patricia Pina and William Pina, and sister of the late Maria Alves, Manuel Luz, Elizabeth Lisbon and Joanna DeLuz.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 16th at 10 AM at St. Anthony's Church, Mattapoisett. Burial follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett on Wednesday morning from 8:30-9:30 AM.
