Dominga Evelyn (Rebeiro) Santos, 88, of New Bedford died December 6, 2002 at Mediplex Rehabilitation Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in 1999.

She was the wife of the late Christiano Santos, and daughter of the late Joaquin and Matilda (Correia) Rebeiro.

A lifelong resident of New Bedford, she was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Mrs. Santos was formerly employed as a nurse's aide at St. John's Nursing Home.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Until her accident, she enjoyed her Sundays with her best friend Jenny Pimental at the United Social Club and Verdean Vets Hall.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Barbara E. Roderiques and Florence E. Tavares, both of New Bedford; a nephew, who was like a son to her, James Rebeiro; 2 godchildren, Kenny Ribeiro and Marie Gibbons; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the great-grandmother of the late Nina Aldoin and sister of the late Manuel C. Rebeiro, Sylvester C. Rebeiro, John R. Rebeiro, Benvinda Rebeiro and Izaura Fonseca.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday, December 9th at 10 AM.Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 11 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Visiting hours Sunday, December 8th from 5-9 PM.

Interment St. John's Cemetery.
