Donaldo Silva, 75, of New Bedford died Wednesday January 7, 2009 at home. He was the husband of Theresa (Lawrence) Silva.

Born in New Bedford, the son of the late John and Lydia (Morgan) Sylvia, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Mr. Silva was formerly employed by Unicco Service Company.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; three children, Debra Ramos and her husband John, Cherele Fortes and her husband Stephen, and Donald Silva, all of New Bedford; a sister, Madeline Costa of Dartmouth; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was the brother of the late Franklin Sylvia, Lorraine Gonzales, and Raymond Sylvia who passed away on the same day as his brother Donaldo.
