Donna Lee Burr, 66, of New Bedford died July 13, 2024 unexpectedly at St. Anne's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late David L. and Dorothy J. (Mendes) Burr, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
She was formerly employed as a certified nurses assistant by Vibra Hospital and St. Luke's Hospital for many years until her retirement.
Donna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gospel music, cooking and trips to the beach and casino with her friends.
Survivors include her son, Willis Macklin, Jr. and his wife Jenna of New Bedford; a daughter, Ahjae (Zeigler) DeBarros and her husband Ornaldo of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Kenneth Burr of New Bedford and Aaron Burr of Virginia; 4 grandchildren, Alianna Macklin, Camron Macklin, Ahjai Zeigler and Avery Macklin; a great-grandson, Kingstyn Macklin; several nieces and nephews including her special niece Kenda Burr; and her best friend Paula Rosa.
She was the sister of the late David Burr, Jr.
Her visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 20th from 1-4 PM with a prayer service at 3 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
