Doreen A. Gonsalves, 63, of New Bedford passed away Monday, January 13, 2025 surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Antonio Abreu and Leonora (Costa) Gonsalves, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

Doreen was a devout Catholic and communicant of Our Lady's Chapel and Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church. Doreen was a member of the MIM at Our Lady's Chapel as well as a board member for Day with Mary. She enjoyed traveling.

Doreen worked as a quality control inspector for Titleist for 35 years.

Survivors include her sister Darleen Nunes and her husband Joe of Acushnet; her brother Arnold Gonsalves and his fiancée Melissa of Bristol, RI; her best friends, Wanda and Joe Camara and Michaela Wojcik; and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her siblings, Leonora "Dolly" Reed, John Gonsalves, Robert Gonsalves, Rosemarie Forsblom, and Antonio Gonsalves.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's Crapo unit for the care they provided to Doreen.

Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 21st at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish at St. James Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 20th from 5-8 PM.
