Doris (Wells) Griffiths, 89, of New Bedford died October 15, 2004 at Brandon Woods after a long illness.

She was the wife of the late David Griffiths.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Edward and Louisa (Cook) Wells, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

Mrs. Griffiths was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church.

She was formerly employed by the Star Store as a sales clerk in the curtain and drapery department for many years until her retirement.

Mrs. Griffiths was a member of the British Society.

Survivors include several close relatives, Elizabeth Griffiths of Newfoundland, Canada, Sr. Catherine Griffiths, SND of Duxbury, MA, Margaret Griffiths and family of Georgia, James Griffiths and family of New Hampshire and David Griffiths and family of Florida.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford_Monday at 11 AM.Funeral Service at Grace Episcopal Church at 12Noon.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Interment Pine Grove Cemetery.
