Doris M. (Wilber) Heleen, 95 of New Bedford died January 7, 2005 peacefully at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion. She was the wife of the late Owen W. Heleen.
Born in Taunton, the daughter of the late Bertram P. and Mary Ann (Cavanaugh) Wilber, she lived in New Bedford most of her life.
Mrs. Heleen was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.
She was formerly employed as a realtor and served as treasurer for the board of realtors for many years.
Mrs. Heleen was a member of the New Bedford Women's Club.
Survivors include a son, Owen W. Heleen, and his wife Barbara, of New Bedford; five grandchildren, Owen W. Heleen, Jr. of Lincoln, RI, Pamela A. Heleen-Spear of Skaneateles, NY, Peter C. Heleen of Bourne, Atty. Mark L. Heleen of Falls Church, VA and Christian D. Heleen of Middleboro; a nephew, Dr. Richard Wilber of Cheshire, CT; eight great-grandchildren.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 14th at 10 AM in St. Lawrence Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
