Dorothy Frances (Wright) Lynch, 93, of New Bedford died May 28, 2025 peacefully at home surrounded by her family and loved ones.
She was the wife of the late Dudley A. Lynch and was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ.  She was the daughter of the late Frank V. and Anna (Pearsons) Wright, and lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was employed as the Charge Nurse of the Operating Room at St. Luke's Hospital for more than 30 years until her retirement.  Dorothy spent her leisure time playing cards and taking trips to the casino.  Her favorite pets were cats and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones.
Survivors include her 3 daughters, Jeanette Lynch of New Bedford, Patricia Price of Worcester and Ayobunmi Chambaka of Columbia, SC; 8 grandchildren, Layala Lazenby, Torri Crump, Elyse Pettiford, Tracey Montgomery, Damani Hughes, Nzinga Hughes, Jawanza Hughes and Tegest Tadesse; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was the mother of the late Virginia Hughes and Marion Shakur, grandmother of the late Kimberly Pettiford and sister of the late Betty Callender, Frank Wright, Jr., Charles Wright and Alice Lynch.
Her memorial celebration will be private.
