Dorothy M. (Grew) Potter, 98, of Dartmouth died October 8, 2014 at Southeastern Mass. Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was the wife of the late Elmer A. Potter.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late George and Annie (Nelson) Grew, she lived in Dartmouth most of her life.
Mrs. Potter was the co-owner with her late husband of Potter & Casey Welding which later became Potter Steel Service.
She had a passion for showing horses in shows and was a steward, judge and secretary at the national level. She was a member of the Dartmouth Horsemen's Association, Massachusetts Horsemen's Council, New England Horsemen's Council and the American Horse Show Association. Mrs. Potter was an avid Boston Celtics, Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Nancy Smith and her husband Robbins of Florida and Marcia Picard of Dartmouth; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and a niece.
She was the mother of the late June Lach.
Her private Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, October 14th in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery, Dartmouth.
