Douglas K. Goes, 62 of New Bedford died March 9, 2017 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Bedford, the son of Everett and Lois (Needham) Goes, he lived on Cape Cod and New Bedford all of his life.
He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, watching cooking shows. He also enjoyed music and played drums in bands as a kid.
Survivors include his parents; a son, Ryan Goes of New Bedford; a daughter, Meghan Goes and her companion Jamison Fernandes of New Bedford; a sister, Darlene Perreira and her husband Paul of Fairhaven; 3 grandchildren, Layla Goes, Elayna Fernandes and Tyler Fernandes; his cousin, Dennis Audette and his wife Marie of New Bedford; and 2 nieces, Melissa Perreira and Ashley Perreira.
His funeral arrangements will be private.
