Duane L. Duarte, Sr., 59, of New Bedford died Friday October 3, 2008.

Born in Providence, the son of the late Arline (Fontes) and Ernest Duarte, Sr., he lived in New Bedford for many years.

Survivors include his companion, Dorothy Pina; his children, Duane Duarte Jr., Lashawn Cortes, Alisha Duarte, and Dana Baptiste; his siblings, Karen Taylor, Jean and Kristine Watkins, Donna, Stacie, Ernest, Robert, Kevin, and Jamie Duarte; four granchildren; and nieces and nephews.
