DuAnne M. Pires, 59, of Lowell passed away Tuesday December 23, 2025.

Born in Boston, the daughter of the late Joel and Barbara M. (Duarte) Pires, she had lived in Boston, Lawrenceville, Georgia, Fall River, and New Bedford before moving to Lowell.

DuAnne was formerly employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Veterans Services.

She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, watching movies, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Myles Pemberton; her brother, Joel Pires; her nephew, Joel Pires III; her former husband, Robert Pemberton; her comadres, Sherry Duarte and Susan Duarte; her sisters, Tara Ramos and Wendy Toon; her goddaughter, Dasia Duarte; her stepdaughter, Kai Almeida; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Her visitation will be held on Saturday January 17th from 9-10 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her memorial service at 10 AM. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
