Edmund Moniz, 89, of New Bedford died November 29, 2017 at home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Barbara A. (Marks) Moniz.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Francisco and Mary (Silva) Moniz, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Moniz was formerly employed as a truck driver with Nabisco for many years until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Bruce Moniz of New Bedford; a daughter, Donna Marcotte and her husband Christopher of New Bedford; a step-son, Brian Arguin of New Bedford; a step-daughter, Jeanine Whalen of Abington; a sister, Stella Cody and her husband Ed of New Bedford; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was the step-father of the late Sharon Arguin.
His Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 11th at 11 AM in the the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Southcoast VNA Hospice and Palliative Care, 200 Mill Rd., Fairhaven, MA 02719.
