Edward "Ned" Flynn

Edward "Ned" Robert Flynn, 82, of Marion passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. He was the husband of Fern (Gerardy) Flynn for 57 years.

Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Edward Joseph Flynn and Ruth Agnes (Sheehan) Mullen. He was in the first graduating class of 1962 from Cardinal Spellman High School. He later moved to Whitman, where he lived until retiring to Marion.

Ned was a true outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing. Some of his best memories were made in Lakeville, Maine where he took his boys for yearly fishing trips, and going back in the fall for hunting trips with his lifelong friends. He also enjoyed going to the beach with his family and grandchildren. He had a love for Corvettes, having owned two. His favorite being his 1963 red convertible Corvette, which he loved taking to car shows. Ned will be remembered as a great family man and husband.

He was a member of Hanson Rod and Gun Club where he liked target practice with his friends.

Ned worked for Verizon for 30 years before retiring at 54 to spend time with his wife and children.

He is survived by his wife Fern; his children, Edward "Ted" Flynn and his wife Kathleen of Centerville, John Flynn and his wife Michele of Plympton; and his grandchildren, Liam, Brian, Nora, and Avery Flynn.

He is predeceased by his uncle Bob Sheehan who was like a father to him.

According to his wishes, a family service will be held at a later date.
