Edward J. Raposa, 72, of Dartmouth died June 6, 2009 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of Carolyn (Ventura) Raposa.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Pacheco) Raposa, he lived in Dartmouth most of his life.
Mr. Raposa was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Dartmouth.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Leonard Raposa of Fairhaven and Edward Raposa, Jr. of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Robert Raposa, Daniel Raposa and Joseph Raposa, all of Fall River; a sister, Patricia Raposa of Fall River and several grandchildren.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 9th at 10 AM in St. Mary's Church in Dartmouth. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
