Obituary

Edwin "Baby" Pina, 64, of Phoenix, formerly of New Bedford died September 6, 2002 at Thunderbird Samaritan Hospital.

He was the husband of Patricia (McMahon) Pina.

Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Maria (Barros) and Alfred "Nene" Pina.

He was a former communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in New Bedford.

Mr. Pina was employed at the Arizona Public Service for 20 year as an Engineer Draftsman.

He was a graduate of New Bedford High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1958 to 1962, which included Japan.

He had a great love for music, and he hosted Karaoke and sang songs for several years as "Fast Eddie".

Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Edwin Brian Pina of Baltimore, MD, and Edwin Pina, Jr., of Chandler, AZ; 2 daughters, April Lynn Jones of Baltimore and Lorryn Marie Jacobs of Mesa, AZ; 3 sisters, Eva Coombs of Buzzards Bay, Anita Robinson of Mattapoisett, and Helen Jenkins of New Bedford; 5 brothers, Alfred Pina, Jr., of East Providence, RI, Manuel Pina of New Bedford, Frank Pina of Dartmouth, Richard Pina of Acushnet, and Dr. Burt D. Pina of Marion; 8 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Antone "Mickey" Pina.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday, September 16th at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Visiting hours Sunday, September 15th from 4-8 PM.

Interment St. John's Cemetery.
