Elizabeth M. (Hardin) Duarte, 66, of New Bedford died August 28, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of Robert W. Duarte.
Born in Acushnet, the daughter of Eleanor (Madeiros) Hardin-Zeude and her husband Aurelien Zeude of New Bedford and the late Joseph M. Hardin, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Elizabeth enjoyed long rides to Padanaram, music, cooking, spending time with her children, grandchildren and friends and the company of her dog Princess.
Survivors include her husband, mother and step-father; 3 sons, Robert Duarte, II and Peter Duarte, both of New Bedford and Emory Berube of Fall River; 5 daughters, Deborah Prescott of Schenectady, NY, Laurie Duarte of New Bedford, Dawn Ryan of Taunton, Melanie Duarte and and Tara Duarte, both of New Bedford; a brother, David Hardin of New Bedford; 19 grandchildren, Melissa, Tori, Trey, Brittany, Briana, Timothy, Mariah, Mackenzie, Jordan, Ariana, Ayvah, Jadiel, Natasha, Javien, Neylani, Elijah, Jeremie, Shayna and Justice; 6 great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jovon, Kevin, Julien, Nassai and Avery; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the companion of the late Joseph C. Blais, Jr.
Her funeral services will be private.
