Elizabeth Ann Ruby

Elizabeth Ann (Barros) Ruby, 84, of New Bedford died February 2, 2026 peacefully at home with her son by her side.
She was the wife of the late Peter John Ruby.

Born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of the late John and Catherine (Texeira) Barros, she lived in Boston before returning to New Bedford in 1991.

She enjoyed Bingo, scratch tickets and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Peter "P.J." Ruby of New Bedford; 2 step-daughters, Jeanie Barboza and Carmen Ruby-Dodson; a brother, William "Billy" Barros of Shrewsbury, MA; 5 Godchildren, Keayana Nogueira, Reginald Weaks, Vincent Weaks, Pietra (Peaches) Clarke and Christian Egleston.

She was this sister of the late Geraldine Pina.

Her visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 9th from 3-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
