Elmer Davis "Moe" Williams, Jr., our beloved Dad, Papa, Uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, at the age of 78, surrounded by his loving family at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Elmer Davis Williams, Sr. and Dorothy M. (Silva) Williams.
Moe was the source of strength, stability, loyalty, dignity, dedication, love, and devotion to everyone who knew him. He was the foundation of his family and a man whose unwavering love and support touched countless lives. He will be deeply missed every day and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Moe enjoyed spending time on the golf course, playing tennis at the old New Bedford High School tennis courts, playing ice hockey at the Hetland Skating Rink, and relaxing with his buddies at Bally's Tiverton Casino. Above all else, Moe cherished his family. His greatest pride and joy was being a father and grandfather.
He leaves behind his loving children, Danielle Williams of New Bedford and Aaron Domingos of New Bedford; his daughters-in-law, Jess Riley and Amanda Quintin; his sister, Barbara Roberts; and his cherished grandchildren, Tamara, Landon, Elliana, Everley, and Remi. He also leaves behind the mothers of his children, Elaine Beauparland and Gail Swallow, both of New Bedford, for whom he always cared deeply.
Moe was a man of many trades, but his greatest role was that of a devoted family man. He would go to war for the people he loved, and there was nothing more important to him than his family. His kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply.
His love, guidance, and devotion will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered for all of our remaining days.
