Elvira (Orabona) Furlani, 102, of Fairhaven died February 23, 2009 at Alden Court Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
She was the wife of the late Augusto Furlani.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Joseph and Adelina (Desimone) Orabona, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
Mrs. Furlani was a member of the Sons of Italy.
Survivors include 2 sons, Richard Furlani of Falmouth and Eugene Furlani of Mattapoisett; a daughter, Carol Furlani of New Bedford; a brother, Joseph Orabona of Sudbury; 2 sisters, Olga Cardullo of New Bedford and Mary Balestracci of New Bedford; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, February 27th at 9 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, February 26th from 5-8 PM.
