Emanuel Gomes DaCruz, 38, of New Bedford passed away at Boston Medical Center in Tuesday May 27, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Fatima Barros.

Born and raised in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of Euclides Lopes DaGamboa and Margarida F. (Gomes) Gamboa, he lived in Pawtucket, RI before moving to New Bedford 15 years ago.

Emanuel was employed as a construction worker for many years.

He had a deep love for his family and friends.  He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, going on vacation, and caring for his animals.

He is survived by his wife, Fatima; his parents, Euclides and Margarida; his daughters, Jaylinne and Aaliyah; his stepsons, Justin, Gino, and Giovanny; his siblings, Maria Gomes DaCruz, Maria Baptista, Francelina DaCruz, Maria doRosario DaCruz, Domingas DaCruz, Candida DaCruz, Dulcineida DaCruz, and Julio DaCruz; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His funeral service will be held on Saturday June 7th at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.  Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be on Friday June 6th from 4-8 PM.  For online condolence book, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
