Eugene V. Bastien, 92, of Plymouth, formerly of New Bedford died February 28, 2002 at Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness

He was the husband of the late Esther I. (Nichols) Bastien,and son of the late George J. Bastien and Annie (Kobza) Lawton, and stepson of the late Roy Lawton.

Mr. Bastien was born in Acushnet and had lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church in New Bedford.

Mr. Bastien was formerly employed as an auto mechanic for many years until his retirement.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Jean B. Stowell and Eileen M. Graham, both of Carver; a brother, Norman Bastien of Dartmouth; 2 grandchildren, Jeanne Faria of Taunton, and Michael McKenna of Sandwich; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday, March 4th at 11 AM.

Visiting hours Sunday, March 3rd from 4-7 PM.

Interment Oak Grove Cemetery.
