Eugene "Gene" P. Martin, 63, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 after a long battle.

He was born March 20, 1961 to the late Barbara M. (Green) Martin and Edward S. Martin, Sr. Gene worked most of his life for the City of New Bedford, where he also resided in his younger years.

He was the partner of the late Luci J. Rodrigues. Gene enjoyed wrestling, football Sundays with friends and family, and being an uncle and a Dad!! He was also the brother of the late Anne DeMoranville.

Eugene is survived by his daughter, Trina L. (Martin) Neves and her husband Genildo Neves, of Virginia; his step-daughter, Kerrie L. (Chase) Lopez and her husband Javier Lopez of New Bedford; his brother, Edward S. Martin, Jr. and his wife Susan Martin of New Bedford; his nieces, Susan (DeMoranville) Therrien, Melissa Martin, and Amanda Martin; and his grandchildren, Jason, Myles, Skyla, Briana, Andrew, Christopher, and Lillian.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 4:00 pm at the Hope Evangelical Community Church, 88 Hathaway Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02747. Friends and family are welcome to attend for a gathering of memories and refreshments.
