Eugene P. Nikonowicz, 85, of New Bedford died June 3, 2013 at Sacred Heart Home.
Born in New Bedford the son of the late Ignacy and Aniela (Baluch) Nikonowicz, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.
Mr. Nikonowicz was formerly employed by the Acushnet Company, Golf Division and later for St. Luke's Hospital until his retirement.
He served in U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. Mr. Nikonowicz was awarded the World War II Victory Medal, the American Area Campaign Medal, and the Coast Guard Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Andrews Dahill Post 1531 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Janina Bissonnette, Philomena Gillibrand, Evelyn Larson, Louise O' Malley and Charles Nikonowicz.

His Graveside Service will be held on Friday, June 7th at 9 AM in St. Mary's Cemetery.
