Obituary

Everett Goes, 93, of New Bedford died July 28, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of Lois M. (Needham) Goes.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Arthur and Adeline (Sousa) Goes, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was formerly employed by Acushnet Company for many years until his retirement.
Mr. Goes served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  He was a recipient of the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.
Mr. Goes was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church.
He was a member and former vice president of Mt. Carmel Seniors.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Darlene Pereira and her husband Paul of Fairhaven; a sister-in-law, Amy Crowell of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Rogers, Ashley Curvelo, Meghan Goes and Ryan Goes; 5 great-grandchildren, Layla Goes, Elayna Fernandes, Tyler Fernandes, Jeremiah Rogers and Sawyer Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews including Dennis Audette and his wife Marie of New Bedford.
He was the father of the late Douglas Goes and the brother of the late Beverly Amaral and Leonard Goes.
His visiting hours will be held on Thursday August 1st from 4-7 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.  His funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2nd at 9 AM in the funeral home followed by burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
