Faith A. Blanchard, 61, of New Bedford died Friday, February 16, 2018, surrounded by her family, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Miles Blanchard and Mary Louise (Smith) Arruda, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

Faith was a member of City of Joy Church in New Bedford.

She attended the Paul Dever School and the Better Community Living Day Habilitation Program.

Faith enjoyed competing in the Special Olympics, listening to music, dancing, drawing and playing with her iPad.

She is survived by her roommate and best friend, Kim Teixeira and her Better Community Living family and friends, who cared for her for many years.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
