Florence M. (Hathaway) Carreau, 99, of New Bedford passed away Monday, June 27, 2022 after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Leonard R. Carreau.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late John T. and Myrtle M. (Tripp) Hathaway, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.

Florence was formerly employed by the John I. Paulding Company as an assembler for 35 years.

She enjoyed sewing, making crafts, and working in her yard.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl A. Glass; two grandsons, Robert B. Francis and Brian M. Francis; three great-grandchildren, Quinn, Autumn, and Mason Francis; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late John T. Hathaway, Jr., Joseph Elliot Hathaway, Stewart W. Hathaway, William E. Hathaway, Louis S. Hathaway, Ruth M. Herron, and Robert E. Hathaway.
