Florence Rose

Florence (Valante) Rose, 98, of Plymouth passed away on Wednesday October 7, 2026. She was the wife of the late Frank Rose.

Born in Bristol, RI, the daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Tortorice) Valante, she lived in Attleboro before moving to Plymouth 54 years ago.

Florence was formerly employed as a shipping supervisor at General Findings in Attleboro until her retirement.

She was a member of the Buzzards Bay Senior Citizens and the Red Hat Society

She is survived by her children, Richard Rose and his wife Nancee, and Karen Nunes and her husband Paul; her sisters, Shirley Harris and Viola Vinacco; her grandchildren, Father Daniel Nunes, Jeremy Nunes and his wife Karen, Nicholas Rose and his wife Hilary, Matthew Rose, Michael Bell, Jr., Ryan Bell, Benjamin Bell, and Cassandra Bell; her great-grandchildren, Nolan Nunes, Lucas Rose, Emmett Nunes, and William Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Jayne Bell.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 16th at 11 AM at St. Anthony’s Church, 22 Barstow St., Mattapoisett. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Wareham. Visitation will be on Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Route 6, Mattapoisett.
