Frances Mary (O'Brien) Hoefel, 92, of New Bedford passed away peacefully on October 31st at Vantage Health and Rehab in New Bedford.

Born in Boston, daughter of the late John J. and Kathleen (Gurley) O'Brien. Raised in Dorchester she lived near London, England and in Hingham, MA where she owned and operated a yarn shop before moving to the Plymouth, NH area and retiring to New Bedford.

She enjoyed time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved her cats, collecting antiques, completing all kinds of puzzles, and watching game shows.

Survivors include her five children, Carl Hoefel, Ann Acosta, Eric Hoefel, Mark Hoefel and Paul Hoefel; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Frances was the sister of the late Bill O'Brien, Maurice O'Brien, and Kathleen Walker.

Her funeral arrangements will be private.
