Frances B. (Presby) Swansey, 82, of Hyannis died July 9, 2025 unexpectedly at Cape Cod Hospital.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Frances J. (Boyle) Presby and raised by Joseph and Grace (Boyle) Mikina and Norris and Mary (Boyle) Walecka, she lived in New Bedford, Norwood and Hyannis.

She was formerly employed by MultiBank in Dedham and Bed Bath and Beyond before retiring from Macy's.

Frances enjoyed raising her children, visiting her family and dining out. She also enjoyed taking long walks around her neighborhood.

Her family would like to thank the families that welcomed her into their home and raised her after the early death of her mother.

She is survived by seven children, Timothy Swansey and his wife Fatima (Chris) of Bristol, RI, James Swansey and his wife Laurie, Mary Ann Jordan and her husband David, and Christine Ovitt all of Walpole, Karen Tegelaar and her husband Alex of Medway, Juliane Swansey of Taunton, and Daniel Swansey and his wife Caroline of Yacolt, WA; a sister, Joanne Moniz and her husband John of Daytona Beach, FL; 14 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 22nd at 10 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 121 Mt. Pleasant St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday, July 21st from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Support People Living with Asthma and Allergies | AAFA.org
