Francisca (Barros) Pina, 104, of Dartmouth died January 10, 2002 at Brandon Woods.
She was the wife of the late Manuel Pina,and daughter of the late Joao and Maria C. (DaRosa) Barros.
Mrs. Pina was born in Brava, Cape Verde, and had lived in Brava for most of her life before moving to the united States in 1957. She resided in New Bedford and Dartmouth for the past 44 years.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She was a member of the Our Lady of the Assumption Club.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Maria C. DePina of South Dartmouth; 3 grandchildren, Manuel H. DePina, Joseph R. DePina, and his wife Linda, and Deborah M. Pereira, all of South Dartmouth; 5 great-grandchildren, Crystal DePina, Keith Pereira, Nicholas DePina, Kelly Pereira, and Melissa Raposo; a great-great-grandson, Kyle Raposo; and a foster daughter, Julia Fernandes of Brockton.
She was the mother of the late Jose M. DePina and stepmother of the late Maria Monteiro.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordMonday, January 14th at 9 AMFuneral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Sunday, January 13th from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
Interment St. John's Cemetery.
