Francisco "Chico" Gomes DePina, 54, of New Bedford passed away on Wednesday August 3, 2016.
Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of Arsenia (DePina) Jones and the late Edward Gomes DePina, he lived in New Bedford since 1967.
Chico loved landscaping and cooking. He was a very artistic person who enjoyed drawing pictures and writing poems. He was a very humble and kind individual who was loved by many people. He especially loved his family.
He is survived by his mother, Arsenia; his siblings, Helena "Lena" Gomes DePina of North Attleboro, Domingos Gomes DePina, Hilda Lopes, and Tilly Feliciano and her husband Richie, all of New Bedford; his nieces and nephews, Scott Anthony Lopes, Erik DePina, Domingos Gomes DePina, Jr., Aaron Feliciano, Kaelyn Feliciano, Bella Feliciano, and Jacell Feliciano; and many cousins.
He was predeceased by his stepfather, Frank Lopes.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Wednesday August 10, 2016 at 11 AM at Rural Cemetery, New Bedford. Visiting hours are omitted. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
