Frank C. Amarello, 80, of New Bedford died Saturday May 22, 2010 at Tobey Hospital. He was the husband of the late Mildred (Simas) Amarello.

Born in Fall River, the son of the late Manuel and Antonia (Cabral) Amarello, he lived in New Bedford for many years.

Mr. Amarello was formerly employed as a weaver tender for Debson Mills in Norton.

During the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army. He was an avid Red Sox fan.

Survivors include a daughter, Dianne M. Mendes and her husband George of New Bedford; a sister, Irene Ferreira of Tiverton, RI; and a granddaughter, Chelsie Mendes.
