Frank A. Lopes, 74, of Fairhaven died March 6, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Antone M. and Micaella (DoRosario) Lopes, he lived in New Bedford most of his life before moving to Fairhaven 2 years ago.
He was formerly employed by DeFillet Fish House for many years until his retirement. He later was a Taxi Cab driver in New Bedford.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Assumption Church.
Mr. Lopes was a loving devoted father, friend to many and a joy to be around.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Hilda Vera, and her husband Alex, and Tilly Feliciano, and her husband Richie, all of New Bedford, Patricia Lopes of Taunton; a son, Paul Lopes of New Bedford; a step-daughter, Helena DePina of New Bedford; 2 step-sons, Domingos DePina of New Bedford and Francisco DePina of Framingham; 4 brothers, Manuel Lopes of New Bedford, Joaquim Lopes of Dartmouth, Joseph Lopes of Florida and Antone Lopes, Jr. of Baltimore, MD; 4 sisters, Mary Mendes of New Bedford, Juanita Figueirdo of Puerto Rico, Mary DeLuz Rozario of Fall River and Hilda Correia of New Bedford; several grandchildren including, Scott Lopes, Aaron Feliciano, Domingos DePina and Erik DePina; many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Gertrude Nunes and Rose Mendes.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, March 9th at 8:00 AM.Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Assumption Church at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Monday, March 8th from 4 -8 PM.
Interment St. John's Cemetery, New Bedford.
