Gaudencio "Dencho" DaLomba, 99, of New Bedford died Monday August 22, 2011 at Hallmark Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Julia (Rodrigues) DaLomba.

Born in Brava, Cape Verde, the son of the late Narciso and Maria DaLomba, he lived in New Bedford since 1957.

He was a communicant Our Lady of the Assumption Church.

Survivors include his son, Jose DaLomba of New Bedford; his stepchildren, Jose Baptista, Maria Mendes, and Eugenia Dias, all of New Bedford, and Adeline Baptista of Kissimmee, FL; and many step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.


Private funeral arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
