George Motta, 71, of Dartmouth died Monday June 12, 2017 at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late George Motta, Celeste "Sally" (Ferreira) Ribeiro, and Alfred M. Ribeiro, he lived in New Bedford and Dartmouth for most of his life.
George was formerly employed by Work Incorporated and the Opportunity Center. He attended Active Day Adult Day Care program. He was an avid bowler.
He is survived by his brother, Barry A. Ribeiro and his wife Janice of Dartmouth; his nephew, Barry A. Ribeiro, Jr. and his wife Michelle; and his great-niece and great-nephew, Allysa and Jacob Ribeiro.
His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday morning from 10-11 AM prior to the service. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
