Gerald T. Grether, 38, of New Bedford died September 1, 2017 unexpectedly at St. Luke's Hospital.
He was the husband of Cynthia M. (Sequeira) Grether.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, the son of the late Jean M. Grether, he lived in Sebastian, FL for many years before moving to New Bedford in 2007.
He was formerly employed as a commercial fisherman on several fishing vessels in the New Bedford fleet.
Survivors include his wife; 2 step-sons, Brendan and Alex; a brother, Michael Grether and his wife Jessica of Cocoa Beach, FL; a cousin, Nicole Bollinger; his aunt, Kathy Bollinger and her husband Charlie; his mother-in-law, Alice Sequeira; his brother-in-law Larry Sequeira; his sisters-in law Natalie Sequeira, Debra Mendes and Laurie Sequeira; and many nieces and nephews.
