Gerald T. Monteiro

Gerald T. "Jerry" Monteiro, 76, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Willard and Mary (Lopes) Monteiro, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.

Jerry enjoyed playing horseshoe, bowling, and pool. He liked watching all sports especially football and dedicated his Sundays to cheering on the Patriots.

He worked for Antone Medeiros Contractors for many years, as well as part time at The Biltmore. He made many friends during that time.

Survivors include his children, grandchildren, and two brothers.

His visiting hours will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 from 2-6 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
