Gerald E. Pereira, 64, of New Bedford died Friday January 27, 2006 at Savoy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Dorothy Drew of New Bedford and the late Fred Rollins, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

Survivors include his mother; a daughter, Tracy Swindler of New Bedford; a son, Jeff Pereira of California; six brothers, Ronald Horton, Richard Horton, Bruce Horton, Gary Horton, Brian Horta, and Jeff Horta, all of New Bedford; five sisters, Cheryl Bryne of Dartmouth, Sandra Rego, Dale Amaral, Diane Carpenter, and Gaye Horta, all of New Bedford; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Wayne Horton and Fred Rollins, Jr.


His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday January 31, 2006 at 10 AM in the Christian Fellowship Center, 818 Church St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be at the Christian Fellowship Center on Monday January 30, 2006 from 5-8 PM.
