Gilbert P. Rauch, 50, of New Bedford passed away on Saturday August 4, 2012. He was the husband of Gina M. (Gonsalves) Rauch.

Born in New Bedford, the son of Ledwina "Lee" (Machado) Rauch and the late Gilbert J. Rauch, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.

Mr. Rauch was formerly employed by Simmons Concrete Foundations.

He enjoyed sports and played hockey in his youth. He loved animals and making people laugh. He was the neighborhood handyman. He especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter.

Survivors include his wife and mother; his daughter, Alissa M. Rauch of New Bedford; his sister, Laura Napier and husband David of New Bedford; and his nephew, David G. Napier.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 9 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
