Grace L. (Lardner) Manning, 90, of New Bedford died Friday September 2, 2016 after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Francis J. "Butch" Manning.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Grace (Regan) Lardner, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.

She was a communicant of St. James Church.

Mrs. Manning was formerly employed as a kindergarten teacher at St. James School.

Grace was a graduate of Holy Family High School and attended Bates College.

She was an avid gardener and quilter.

Survivors include a son, Francis J. Manning, Jr. of Warwick, RI; a daughter, Patricia Keppler and her husband Kevin of Bellingham; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Rollins and her husband Michael, and Joseph Keppler and his wife Jessie; and four great-grandchildren, William, Eric, and Charlotte Rollins, and Lily Keppler.

She was the sister of the late Eileen Lardner Riordan.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 AM at St. James Church. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
