Gregory A. Peryer, 53, of New Bedford died September 17, 2002 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.

He was the husband of Mary J. (Hurley) Peryer and son of Donald Peryer of Springfield, MO and the late Norma (Anderson) Peryer.

Mr. Peryer was born in Barre, VT and lived in the New Bedford area most of his life.

He served 20 years in the US Coast Guard retiring as 3rd class bowswain. Mr. Peryer was the recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal with one Bronze Star, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device and the National Defense Service Medal.

Survivors include his wife: his father; a son, Jason F.D. Peryer of New Bedford; his mother-in-law, Natalie R. (Rebello) Hurley of Fairhaven; his sister-in-law, Melanie Reilly, and her husband Richard, of Mattapoisett; several brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews.

His private Funeral Service was held Friday, September 20th in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals.
