Harold O. Burrell, 79, of New Bedford died January 5, 2004 unexpectedly at home.

He was the former husband of the late Muriel (Devitt) Burrell.

Born in Fairhaven, the son of the late Oliver and Elizabeth (Cassidy) Burrell, he lived in New Bedford for most of his life.

He was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.

Mr. Burrell was formerly employed as an automotive machinist at the W.T. Manning Company in New Bedford.

During World War II, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Europe and the Pacific.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice E. Thomson of Wareham; 4 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass in St. Lawrence Church Friday, January 9th at 10 AM, followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery.
