Helena M. "Dolly" (Santos) Burgo, 71, of Hanson died July 5, 2015 at home after a brief illness.
She was the wife of Manuel L. Burgo.
Born in Acushnet, the daughter of the late Casimiro and Anna (Dandan) Santos, she was raised in East Freetown and lived in New Bedford and Brockton before moving to Hanson.
Mrs. Burgo was formerly employed by Light Control in Hanson for many years until her retirement.
She enjoyed crocheting and watching TV game shows.
She was a well loved, sweet loving person.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert Burgo of Boston; a daughter, Anna Burgo and her companion Nick Keough of Hanson; 4 brothers, Casimiro Santos, Jr., Edward Santos, Sylvester Santos, all of New Bedford, and Gerald Santos of East Freetown; 3 sisters, Maria Barros of East Freetown, and Shirley Pacheco and Rosalyn Santos, both of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Eliza Bowles and Shawnae Rose; 2 great-grandchildren, Kemauri and Trevon; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 11th at 9:30 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery.
