Obituary

Howard A. "Howie" Prescott, Jr., 83, of New Bedford died February 6, 2015 at Our Lady's Haven after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Howard A. and Freda (Amero) Prescott, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Mr. Prescott was formerly employed as a machine operator at Revere Copper and Brass for over 30 years until his retirement in 1993.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Prescott was a recipient of the Korean service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars.
Survivors include his 2 sons, Shawn Prescott of Taunton and Timothy Prescott of Schenectady, NY; 2 step-sons, Richard Prescott and William Prescott, both of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Shirley Baptiste and Eileen Antil, both of New Bedford; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Grace Sylvia and Margaret Richards.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 11th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 9 AM. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, February 10th from 4-8 PM.
