Isabel Fernandes,93, of Kissimmee, FL died Monday May 9, 2011 at home.
She was the wife of the late Rui Monteiro Barbosa. Born in Fogo, Cape Verde Island, the daughter of the late Eugenia Fernandes, she moved to New Bedford in 1989, and has resided in Kissimmee, FL for the past 9 years.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Candida Miranda and Laurentina Barbosa, both of Kissimmee, FL, Avelina Gomes and Maria Eugenia Gomes, both of New Bedford. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Friday, May 13th at 8 AM. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, May 12th from 4-8 PM.
