Isabel Benros Pina, 85, of Virginia Beach, formerly of New Bedford, died Sunday March 18, 2007.

Born in Santo Antao, Cape Verde, the daughter of the late Filomena Monteiro and Leon Benros, she lived in New Bedford for 30 years before moving to Virginia Beach nine years ago.

Mrs. Pina was formerly employed at Sacred Heart Home.

Survivors include four children, Madeleine Benros, Edie DeBarros, and Dominique Guilherme, all of Virginia Beach, and Odile DaSilva of Florida; two sisters, Lilly Benros and Laura Benros, both of Cape Verde; four brothers, Domingos Benros of Cape Verde, Lino Benros of California, Pedro Monteiro Benros of France, and Armando Benros of New York; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.


She was the sister of the late Maria DaLuz LaFleur.


Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
