Ivandro Jorge Gomes, 42, of New Bedford died August 18, 2024 after a long illness.
Born in Praia, Cape Verde, son of Filomena (Lopes) Neves of New Bedford and Jorge Gomes Lopes of Cape Verde, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He was formerly employed at Suburban, a power plant in Wareham.
He enjoyed Soccer, Marvel Comics, swimming and spending time with Family
Survivors include his parents; his step-father, Carlton Neves of New Bedford; his 3 siblings, Ivania Gomes and her husband Jorge Fernandes of Pawtucket, RI, Jermaine Neves of New Bedford and Venessa Paiva Gomes of Cape Verde; 2 nieces, Jocelyn and Jayla; and numerous cousins.
His Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 24th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Friday, August 23rd from 4-7 PM.
