Izidora C. "Izzy" (Cruz) Vincent, 96, of New Bedford passed away peacefully on Thursday October 10, 2024 at the New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home.  She was the wife of the late Louis L. "Bucky" Vincent.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Peter and Juliana (Alianoro) Cruz, she lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

Izzy was formerly employed at Titleist for many years and had previously worked for the Aerovox Corporation.  In her later years, she had also worked as a foster grandparent at the Boys and Girls Club of New Bedford.

She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, where she sang in the church choir and was a member of the St. Martin de Porres Guild.  She was one of the founding members of the Cape Verdean-American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary.  She had also been a longtime volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda J. Gomes and her husband John and Kathleen A. Brown and her husband Stephen; three grandchildren. Karen Gomes, Jonathan Brown, and Jared Brown; nine great-grandchildren, Aaron Gomes, Jacquelyne DeMedeiros, David Brown, Cason Shurling, Beckham Brown, Cruz Brown, Kymbrel Brown, Trey Brown, and Annistyn Brown; a great-great-grandson, Malachi Mason; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her grandson, David Brown, and her siblings, Mary Easton, Antonia Cruz, Rose Cruz, Dennis Cruz, Joseph Cruz, John Cruz, and Antone Cruz.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday October 15th at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 10 AM.  Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held on Monday October 14th from 4-7 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to:  Alzheimer's Association, ATTN: Donor Services, 225 North Michigan Ave., 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601 or https//www.ALZ.org.
