Jacqueline M. (Vieira) Morin, 86, of Acushnet, formerly of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully at Our Lady's Haven the afternoon of December 11, 2024.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter Manuel and Helen (Braga) Vieira, she lived on West Island in Fairhaven for most of her life. She enjoyed daily beach walks and sunsets which she avidly photographed. She later retired to Acushnet to spend the remainder of her life.
Jacqueline was formerly employed as a teacher's aide at St. Joseph's School in Fairhaven for 14 years. She had been a volunteer for Southcoast VNA Hospice for many years. She was honored as the volunteer of the year and was active in the Camp Angel Wings program.
Jackie loved spending time volunteering for others and time with family and friends. She was an avid local sports fan. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing her lucky number, beach combing, reading, and bird watching.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Mitchell, Catherine Morin, William Morin, and Raymond Morin; her siblings, Michael Medeiros and Kathleen Vieira; six grandchildren, Ashley Graykowski, Nicholas Morin, Shawna Heinbaugh-Hamill, Andrew Morin, Lily Morin, and Lila Mitchell; and two great-grandchildren Sloane Olivia and Oz Williams Graykowski.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd., Mattapoisett.
